A Little Skoob

Screen shot 2012-12-31 at PM 11.47.20

What is the first thing you think about when you see skoob?
If you’re fast enough, you might have realized that it is actually Books spelt backwards!
If you’re in for a little “skoob” then you’re at the right place because
skoob, Singapore’s Favourite eBookstore has more than 87.000 book titles
from international and local publishers for you to choose from!

These days, the smart phones are getting smaller and the handbags are getting smaller.
People start asking for convenience and more “fuss-free” everything!
With this new ebooks website, you can now have your entire bookshelf put into your iPads, iPhones or laptops!

When I first hit into the skoob website, I realized that it more than an ebook store.
It’s almost like a freaking library!
The books are all classified under the different categories, and you can also choose to shop under “Bestsellers”,
Best Books of 2012 and “New Releases”.
The best thing is, after you’ve made your purchase, you can also start sharing your book on up to 5 devices!

Before you make your purchase, you can actually choose to do a preview of the book!
I LOVE THIS!
It’s almost like shopping in an actual bookstore, except that you get to do the previews
and shop for your books in the comfort of your own bedroom!
And if you think you will only get to read a few pages, you’re in for a surprise!
10% of the each book will be available for preview, so you will get more than one chapter. Sounds good huh! :p
skoob is available on IOS and Android so it pretty much is suitable for most of us.

Initially, I thought that the pricing would be a little more hefty since we all have to “pay for the technology”,
but surprisingly, the prices are really competitive and comparable,
if not better than books sold in physical bookstores!
“The Hobbit” for less than $9? HELLO?

I have been mad busy with work from The Tiramisu Hero lately,
so I also took the liberty to buy eGift cards for my friends for Christmas.
Hehe! These are available in $20, $50 and $100.
The first 100 customers gets an iTouch Pen and stand a chance to win Samsung Note too! *big grins*
Please let it be me! Hahaha.

And now for the real scoop, are you ready?

Other than purchasing books from the website, there are also FREE ebooks available for you to download!

These are just SOME of the free books available.
May I just say I luurrrvveee the Stieg Larsson Trilogy!

After yapping on and on about what’s so awesome about skoob, I, of course,
made my first purchase on the website too.
I used to have to lug 1Q84 Book I & II around in my bag when I head out.
LOOK AT ITS SIZE!
Now that I’ve just purchased BOOK III on skoob, I know better (lighter-bag) days are definitely ahead!

My hair is a little too loud so I decided to just be decked in black from head to toe.
I also got my makeup done by Crystal.
If you like what you see, you can engage Crystal for your events too!
She can be reached at crystallinmakeup@gmail.com or through her Facebook Page.

Please pardon my low quality photos. *sobs*
I hope you brought my better camera around during the dinner. WAILS!

A and I didn’t really have any Christmas or NYE celebration this year.
We were busy preparing tiramisu during Christmas Eve and only had a simple dinner with family during NYE.
But we gave ourselves a little treat at Haagen Daaz with their Christmas menu though.
Love the chocolate fondue!

The year didn’t really end on a fabulous note though.
A and I got into a car accident where a van slammed right into the side of our car
when we were stationary waiting to go into her house.

The impact was quite big and the airbag was activated. Boo.
People got ombre hair, but look at my ombre arm. Hahaha. 😡
The bruise just got worse. It’s like a larger blot of dark purple now and it’s swollen and sore.
Damn the van driver. 😦
