Last night's Operation "Surprise Mom!" was a huge success! 🎉 Even though brother & I had to lie to Mom multiple times within the same day to make things happen lol. Thank you my wonderful family for being such a solid, fun and spontaneous bunch; you guys are too cute and I'm so lucky to call y'all family. And a big HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY to Mom! Day 10 of my veggie life & it really isn't as bad as I thought it might be. Personally, I think the biggest obstacle is the inconvenience when I eat out with friends, and having to relearn how to choose my ingredients and cook (which I'm already quite hopeless at haha). So much to learn. 🥑🥥🍅🥬🥦🥕🥔🌶️🍠 - I've forgotten how cathartic it can be to cook in the kitchen alone and sing along to my favourite tunes while I'm at it. Oh. And eating out of wares that I made myself sure is the cherry on top. I should try to do this more often. :) That chickpea noods is da bomb. *smacks lips* If you've got any tips or recommendations on vegan food options (esp in Singapore), throw them my way!

I think I might call us 'unlikely friends', mainly because I've never had another friend who's quite like Emma and never imagined that our friendship would blossom. But this person is certainly something - apart from being my English, literature and music teacher (lol), she has also singlehandedly made me rethink how I should be a gutsier and more confident person. "You need to live a little more recklessly," she once said to me. She never fails to remind me that I am worthy of bigger and better things, never hesitates to give me a (very controlled) thrashing whenever she thinks I deserve one, and shoots down the baddies around me even before they reach me. Haha! 🧟‍♂‍ The big problem here is, I think she doesn't realise how much good and happiness she brings into people’s lives; how privileged WE are to have her around. So @emma.loh, you are a *great* person and a wonderful friend and I would love to have the privilege to continue to teach you Chinese, maintain your mohawk, nag you to spend less money, cook for you, kill your angst with my patience and slowness, read you bedtime stories (once in a blue moon) and massage your head (once in a blue blue moon). My family is also yours. And you might just be the first person I call if I were to accidentally kill someone and need help with getting rid of the body. #kidding - My point is, I'm very grateful for your friendship. :) Thank you for all the good things you've brought into my life and taught me. I love all the changes you've brought out in me. I haven't always been the good friend I know I can be but I promise to always try to be a better one. You make do okay?
