Staycations are my way of staying sane.
This time round, A and I tried out Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel.
Most people would not even think about having a staycation further away from city area,
thinking that it could be a little more inconvenient to get supplies or food when it’s late.
Actually, it was our main concern too because we are the sort who would take
every staycation as an opportunity to pig out, laze in bed and just watch National Geographic all night long.
On the contrary, we now realised that staying near the airport is a brilliant idea simply because
the airport is always open and is packed with lots of restaurants, supermarkets and other entertainment.
Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is amazingly beautiful.
I mean, it has to be right? Considering it is the hotel most travellers to Singapore might chance upon?
I almost felt like I was not in Singapore.
I truly love the serenity and the fact that I’m away from the bustling city.
Being about the see planes landing and taking off from my hotel room is a big plus point too.
We all know how romantic that is. :p
The room we got is a Deluxe King – big and spacious enough for both of us.
I love how they have designed the room to be able to enjoy lots of natural day light,
both in the main area and in the bathroom.
(Super good for camwhoring) :p
The pictures just do not do the design of the room any justice!
I brought my favourite Vardi & Migdal bath salt for a good evening soak too. 🙂
Never knew of any other bath salt that is so moisturising!
And since there is good natural daylight, might as well!
We took a little tour around the hotel and really love its design – Contemporary Asian,
with visuals of tropical plants and clever use of different textiles.
Look at the pretty swimming pool!
Our room was one of the Club Rooms so we had the luxury to use the extra facilities opened only to Club Room members.
We could also choose to have our breakfast in privacy in the club if we fancy too.
Also, what’s a hotel with a good spa? :p
My favourite find would be the Azur Restaurant though!
This award-winning restaurant has a show kitchen and serves a la carte as well as an Eastern/Western buffet.
As a big foodie, I really think this restaurant deserves to have heaps of people queueing up for their food!
There is not only effort put into the taste of the food, but also on their presentation and display.
TO DIE FOR!
Sounds good aye? :p
There are also several stations where the chefs will prepare the food on the spot if you order.
Sauteed Gnocchi is one of them. I love it!
This looks good and tastes FREAKING AWESOME!
My favourite was the Bread Pudding but I gobbled it all up before I could take a decent picture. 😡
Azur is closed between 3pm to 6pm on weekends; reservations can be made via 68235354.
Their current package promotion available is the Great Value Package
that includes Buffet Breakfast for up to 2 adults at Azur Restaurant.
There is also a $40 nett credit per day (non-cumulative) for use in restaurants and bars.
The package is available here from 1 January – 30 April 2014.
And to gain access to club access, all you have to do is top up $100 for a club room
which allows you to have breakfast as well as have evening cocktails and canapes in the club lounge.
Time for a staycation, busy bumblebees! ❤
