I used to SO love Chinese New Year.
Red packets, being able to rightfully stay up late on Chinese New Year’s Eve (守岁),
visit my cousins who are closer to my age, no lessons at school and most importantly,
to be able to spend time with my family and loved ones.
Now, all I look forward to during Chinese New Year is the Bak Gua.
The cousins have all grown up and can now choose to go out without the family.
This is the 3rd Chinese New Year that Granny is not with us.
I worry about the days when I have to close the cafe because of Chinese New Year;
no operations = no sales = losing money.
I’d rather work on Chinese New Year. Call me workaholic.
And oh red packets – I am starting to feel a little embarrassed to still be collecting them
because relatives of my age are starting to distribute them (to me).
Awkward.
I wonder do all bachelors, spinsters and gay people (of this certain age) feel the same way.
So this year, I came up with a devious plan to look vaguely gay so no one would ask me when I’m getting married,
or if I have a boyfriend.
But I cannot tolerate being call a butch so the red lipstick is a must to emphasize my femininity.
Thank you Dermacare for zapping away my girl-moustache with their RevLite treatment.
I also had my monthly HydraFacial treatment to “let my skin drink water”. 😀
Look, no more moustache and more dewy skin for Chinese New Year. Heh!
SpaClub, under the same group as Dermacare, is having a Valentine’s Day Promotion now!
Fancy a couple spa session for Valentine’s this year? Sounds pretty romantic. *hint hint A*
Work at The Tiramisu Hero has been pretty stable and less unpredictable.
If you ever come to the cafe, you’ll probably see my Mom, my aunts and a couple other good friends working for us.
I am really lucky to have these people in my life.
A and I were just talking about it earlier today – we would be pretty screwed if we were really left on our own.
“THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping us with the cafe and always being so selfless.”
We have some new stuff added to the menu permanently and some created for the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
I think our food standards has really improved by leaps and bounds if you compare to us 2 months ago.
*Hurray!*
AND, we have also gotten our alcohol licence!
And I have fully made use of the blackboard I bought from IKEA for my personal entertainment purpose. :p
And in case you are still deciding where to head to this Valentine’s Day, here is what we have for the special day.
On top of these, all that are in our regular cafe menu will also be available.
I would also like to end the post with a shoutout from ROOM Apparel.
They are having a Giveaway Contest where 3 lucky winners will be bagging a $50 gift card each.
In case you haven’t heard of ROOM Apparels, they have huge collections of both male and female fashion.
Here are some sneak peeks from their latest collection.
The contest will last 2 weeks and all you need to do is to sign up for their mailing list,
and LIKE them on their Facebook Page!
Free now right? Just go and do it, it might just be you! :p
WOW! GREAT OUTFIT!! Can share where from? (:

Hi Peggy,
Been following your blog for quite sometime.
Just want to say that I really admire your courage in pursuing your dreams and love. It reminds me of a thai movie, “yes or no”. Have you heard of this movie before?
