And so the girls were gathered once again for this important day (not so important to her but very important for us)!
It’s Lianie’s Hen Night celebration! Wee!!

And so the girls were gathered once again for this important day (not so important to her but very important for us)!
It’s Lianie’s Hen Night celebration! Wee!!

It has been a great week so far!
We brought A’s 2 huskies out to Tanjong Beach Club again with A’s siblings.
Considering that it’s the monsoon season now, we were really lucky that it didn’t rain!

Poor us had to squeeze at the back of a van though.
Like animal and human trafficking. Hahahaha.

The girls are always happy when we are out on excursions!
Ulva even made a new friend! 😀

I love the calamari at Tanjong Beach Club! Super yummy!
It’s such a lovely place but it’s really a shame that their service sucks so bad.
All the many staff at the club were all huddles up behind the counter and there is no one around to pass us menu,
take our orders or see if we are okay.
It was drizzling when we were there and when the rain stopped, we asked if we could use the day beds on the beach.
One of the servers told me they closed up the beds because it was drizzling (they call it some Category 1 shit),
and if we insist on going out to use the day beds, they cannot stop us.
WHAT KIND OF REPLY IS THAT?!
All the servers had super black face like they were forced to work there.
Or maybe it’s because no one is interested in serving us because we are a bunch of kids.
Whatever it is, it’s just horrible.
Dear TBC, please 检讨检讨, thank you.
Ok that aside, the calamari was really good. Hahaha!

And of course, we made the girls swim.
Theone is getting really good with water but Ulva is still hydrophobic as usual.
I wish I brought Maliboo along too. Missed her! 😦

Even a pretty girl like Theone can have unglam pictures sometimes.

The happiest girl would have to be A though.
She is always feeling very upset about not having enough time to take the girls out.
Plus she has another 3 cats. Too many children fighting for her attention. (Oh! Then got me somemore leh!)
Hahahaha.

A’s two siblings and gf with me.
I look like their auntie leh. Shit.

And more pictures of the girls. A keep forcing Theone to take pictures with her. Haha!

Don’t you think Theone looks like the wolf in Red Riding Hood? When the wolf was in the Grandma’s clothes. Haha!

It was quite a cooling afternoon and I wore my new knitted top from Runway Bandits!
It might look really thick and warm to be in in the photos but it’s really light, great for weather like this.

And I think Christmas must have started early for me!
Courtesy of the lovely Runway Bandits, I also got this gorgeous pullover.
I love the color and it’s SO comfortable to be in!
(And no prizes for guessing the location where the picture was taken right. Heh!)

And this super funky dress from Room Apparel!
I love such stores where not all of their clothes are the girly girl kind. A good balance I’d say!
They will soon be having a mini launch for Christmas on 12.12.12! Don’t miss it out! 😀

I look a bit crazy in this next photo but please ignore that.
Just wanted to show you the back of the dress. Hee.

The dress goes well with my blazers and my new leather jacket from Runway Bandits!
喜欢喜欢喜欢!!

Also visited Jayne at Soeurs @ Cineleisure!
The poor girl was hungry so we decided to be angels and got her apple strudel.
But she is a bigger angel because she gave us SHOES! Hahahaha.

My god I need a haircut. Shunji Matsuo, where art thou! :p
Candid shot of the prettiest lady boss in the whole of Cineleisure! Hee!

Say HELLO to my chio friend! *blows kisses*

Can’t wait to bring the new shoes into the light to meet people!
LOVE the new boots and oxfords she personally brought in to Singapore. Wee!
And before I go, allow me to celebrate my new pair of glasses!
My first real pair of glasses! Hahaha.
I think I am the first person to be so excited about having myopia. 😡
But alright lah, I guess 50/50 is not that bad ya?
Ok, camwhore pictures coming up! 11 photos in total.
Be prepared. Kthxbye!

OK sorry I lied, I’m still here.
Just thought I’ll answer some questions via email about my teeth.
No sadly, I wasn’t born with perfect teeth.
Here is a picture of my teeth before the dental procedure.
(Had to block off the face because it’s utterly hideous)

And here’s the before and after photo for easy comparison.

BIG DIFFERENCE YA!
(This is not an ad by the way)
I have bruxism and it really ruins my teeth because the grinding had shaved off my enamel over the years.
So I got crowns when I visited Bangkok in May this year!
Initially, I wanted to get veneers because it is less invasive.
But the dentist advised me against it because she said the bruxism will make the veneers go loose
and it will not be as lasting.
You can google dental crowns and veneers to know more about the different procedures. 🙂
I did mine at Bangkok Smile Dental, they have about 2 or 3 branches in Bangkok alone, and 2 in Phuket.
Might have more branches in other parts of Thailand, not so sure about it.
Paid about S$4000 for this new smile and it took less than a week!
The $4k comprises of scaling and polishing, teeth whitening on top of the crowns.
It was painless because anesthesia was given.
I was given temporary crowns made of resin (the material they use to do dental fillings) while the actual crowns
were being prepared by the labs.
I wear retainers to sleep every night now to prevent direct friction to my teeth.
No regrets and I think it was the right choice because I am more confident of my smile now! Heh.
So yups! Feel free to leave a comment if you have questions and I’ll try my best to answer. 🙂
Peace xx
Weekends are always happy and last weekend was fab especially with the
Hollywood After Party at Universal Studios Singapore!
Finn, Sinsin, A and I wanted to unwind at a new place with live music and drinks, so after doing some research,
we ended up at the Hollywood After Party!
What attracted me at first was the $33 free flow (because everyone needs a good beer over the weekend)!
but when I heard that there will be a huge stage set up with some awesome live bands like Goodfellas,
BeatRoots and Common People, I was blown away.
I love live music, and I’m sure having a life band at a place like Universal Studios Singapore
would definitely mean good audio systems!

Just in case you are reading this and you are itching for a good night out with your friends,
let me tell you more about where to get the tickets first. Haha!
Entry to Hollywood After Party is at $20 nett, and that includes one drink.
You can also top up $13 for the All You Can Drink Package! Tickets are available here from now.
You could also purchase the tickets at the ticketing booths at USS or at RWS Ticket and Membership Hub.
It is a weekly affair on every Saturday until 5th January! Time to throw away all the work and go party guys!
The band that was on the night we were there was BeatRoots! They were simply awesome!
I suddenly feel like a tourist in there because the ambience was great and
how often do we get to party at Hollywood Boulevard?
The park is really different in daytime and at night.
I can’t decide which I prefer! Both are awesome!

There were also other acts like performers on stilts!
Said HI to Vernon too! Wish Jayne was around!

Other than free flow of beer, soft drinks, cocktails, mocktails and house pours,
there was also a lot of food available too.
Everything from popcorn to fries to chicken wings to nacho to satay to mee goreng! Hahaha.
And since photography is allowed everywhere in the park, here are some pictures of the food stalls in the park!

And probably your best friend if you are a thirsty boy/girl, the drink station!

There are ample drink stations all around so you don’t have to worry about long queues.
There were lots of seating area too, both alfresco and indoors so we get to pick what we like.
We decided to get indoors and let the soccer fans have the outdoor seats since
they are screening Barclays Premier League on the big screens. Heh!
It must be very shiok to watch soccer live under the stars!
And here are some pictures of us I managed to find! :p

I wish there were more of these “street fiesta” style of parties around in Singapore.
Just being in there makes me happy! Heh. We picked an indoor seat and had a good chat over a couple of beers.
The company made the night perfect. 🙂

If you are planning for a day out at Universal Studios Singapore,
don’t forget to take the chance to visit the Hollywood After Party
because all day pass holders will be allowed to stay inside the park to enjoy the event!
To get the drink package, all you need to do is to pop by Hollywood China Bistro & KT’s Grill after 7pm
to purchase the package.
I also saw Top Up counters across the street and near the park entrance where
you can get the coupons for drinks or get the wristband to enjoy free flow of drinks.
When in doubt, just ask any of the park staff because they are all so friendly anyway! Heh.
Alternatively, to get your tickets early, you might want to get them in advance online.
If you’re an RWS Invites member, tickets can be purchased using Invites points too.
And one last important message! The party is on from 7pm till LATE!
Party on guys!
UPDATE:
The countdown party will also take place on 31 December, Monday from 5pm to 1am!
The shows will begin from 6.45pm and rides & attractions will be open till midnight.
There will be international tribute artistes to the likes of Lady Gaga, Michael Buble & Adele performing.
My goodness so exciting!
Event ticket goes for $68, with top up of free flow of beer & housepours from $14
(online & at ticket booths, $18 for walk-up)
Go grab your tickets now!

The previous weekend was totally fab!
A and I were made busy (but happily) preparing for Lianie dear’s big day!
Before I share the golden couple’s pictures on their ROM day, here are some pictures we took for them.
The two of them are the funniest ever! Haha.

The ROM was a simple but beautiful gathering of family and friends at Fort Canning.
Lianie wanted a white wedding so she got all of us to turn up in white.
But of course, no one will be as stunning as my beautiful friend!

Hsean Hsean as the adorable flower girl!

And the rest of us!

I love my white eyelet blouse from Runway Bandits!
Super comfortable to be in! I hardly wear clothes of such cut, I hope it doesn’t look weird on me.
Love love it! 😀

Look at Rykiel’s face! SO CUTE!

And more pictures! Everyone wants a picture with the bride! Heh.
Happy we manage to steal her for a couple of pictures! :p

Thirsty bride. Haha.

And more time for us to take pictures while waiting for Lianie. Hahaha!

Everyone wants a picture with Baby Rykiel too! ❤

Me and my love! *mwaks*

And the girls, all looking fab!

The boys!

We also prepared MommaHero for the day!
Made some personalised tags for the jars too. So glad the guests liked them – cleaned up all 60 jars!

And I think I have the best picture of Rykiel that day.
Check this out!
TOO CUTE TOO CUTE TOO CUTE! :*)
She’s smiling in her sleep!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Lee!
We all love you two and may happiness and lots of love always be with you two! (I’m sure!)
Can’t wait for the BIG DAY in December! ❤
All thanks to The Glamourous Factory, A and I were all prepped up after weeks of hard work!
This cosy little space tucked away in a small corner is going to be your best friend, especially if you are one of those
who works in the CBD area.
We visited The Glamourous Factory last week and each enjoyed a pampering facial!
I also tried eyelash extension for the first time in my life (it really isn’t as uncomfortable as I’ve been told!)

The Glamourous Factory not only do facial treatments but also a whole array of other services like nails,
waxing, ear candling, IPL, and many more!
It’s just a stone’s throw away from my favourite Amoy Street Food Centre and it’s so convenient to just pop by to get a treatment
the next time I’m in the CBD area! Yay! 😀
They are currently having an Opening Special which will end on 30th November 2012 and Christmas promotions are also on.
I always liked how I can find treasures like that. 🙂
Don’t forget to check them out the next time you need a quick facial during lunch time!
All this prepping is not done for nothing, of course!
A’s birthday is just round the corner and I planned a SURPRISE for her!
There’s one thing you don’t know though – I’m REALLY bad at keeping secrets and surprises.
And most of the time, I just end up telling her everything and ruin all my plans.
She likes to tease me for this all the time.
So this time round, I told her we will go get facials and feel refreshed and recharged,
and I’ll bring her for a nice staycation at a fancy hotel!
It was really torturing for me to keep the surprise for as long as 3 weeks!
But when the day finally arrived, I was really proud of myself.
It was a job well done! *big grin*
I got her blindfolded and took her to a cab.
Of course, I told the driver where we wanted to go before she got out of the house.
Sneaky. Hehehe!

And this is pretty much the essence of it.
She was so bewildered when she realised we were at the airport! Hahahaha!
“What are we doing at the airport?”

I think she didn’t know whether to look confused or excited. But it gives me a damn big sense of satisfaction! :p
She was also a little taken aback when she knew I had stolen her passport. Hahaha!
I then handed her a little greeting card with our boarding details all printed.

And before she could digest everything, we are on our way to PHUKET for a sunny holiday!

The resort I got is my favourite place in Phuket – awesome location, awesome beaches, awesome people, awesome everything!
If anyone of you had been to Andara, you would totally agree with me when I say this place is really world class standard!
I love everything from the smell of their rooms to the taste of their room service food. Heh!

Here is a little virtual tour around the resort.

We have a one bedroom suite and this place is HUGE!
We have a fully functional kitchen that comes with all the things you might need – pots and pans, cutlery, crockery, etc.
There is even a dish washer and oven in the kitchen!
The living area is spacious and completed with Bose sound system too!
Good stuff.

Our clean and bright bedroom!

The bathroom is crazy big too – comes with two sinks so we won’t have to fight for space.
And the bath tub is massive as well!

We decided to just chill and slack the day away in this awesome suite.
So dinner will just be settled with room service.
The food was just superb, and the hotel staff would even set the table nicely for the guests!

Each suite comes with a huge tray of fresh tropical fruits, so we had fresh fruits after dinner. Yums!

Breakfast the next day was at the famous SILK Restaurant.
It was such a spread!
A had her Eggs Ben and I had my banana pancakes for breakfast!

I am not really a big fan of Patong Beach but I guess we have to drop by Patong at least once since we’re in Phuket.
So we headed out to town to grab lunch and buy some junk food for the night!

Something random. We found these PINK eggs in one of the convenience stores! So strange!

Those are century eggs by the way.
xxx
It was just a short 3D2N stay because we still have tons of work waiting for us in Singapore and
we really cannot afford to be away for too long.
Besides, I whisked her away secretly and I didn’t know if she was needed at home or had other stuff to do.
So time is of the essence!
The last (but most exciting) day was packed with activities!
We got up nice and early for breakfast before preparing for the beach! 😀

The resort offers free shuttle to the nearby Kamala Beach where the Andara Beach Lounge is at.
I much prefer this beach because it’s more private and not as crazily crowded as Patong Beach!
There are resort staff at the lounge too so there is no need to worry about not being able to get drinks or towels or what not.
In fact, we were welcomed with a nice chilled drink and cold towels the moment we arrived at the beach!

The beach is BEEEAAAUUUTIIFFUULLL!

In the picture above (which is also on the left of the lagoon at Kamala Beach),
you can see Andara resorts and villa littered all over the slopes!

太美了!

To complete my day-at-the-beach look, I also packed along my studded bracelet from Style Locker!
I love how the bracelet can suit different looks, even for beachwear!

I’m looking like a pirate. 😡

We also went up to our private pool for a little dip to cool ourselves down after the tan.
I love the infinity pool and how we overlook the ocean! ❤

Makes my newly Juup-ed toes look prettier too. Hahaha!

And before we checked out at 8pm (yes the resort lets us check out that late!),
we had another nice bubble bath to end the trip on a sweet note. ❤

Andara is heaven on earth indeed!
If you’re planning a trip to Phuket, don’t forget to check them out ok!
They are always having promotions and have lots of packages for honeymoon and weddings etc, so do read up more about them. 🙂
Before I sign off, I also want to share my matching studded necklace from Style Locker!
Big thanks to Ee Xuan and Amelia for the gorgeous accessories to spice out my outfits wherever I am. Love!
They are also on Facebook and will always be posting sneak peeks of their launches so LIKE them if you are kiasu like me. Haha!

And I also found another new piece of accessory I absolutely love!
This chunky necklace from Rainbow Mochi works like magic on all my collared tops!
I like how the gem in the middle sits right between the collars when I pair it up with blouses.

They have just launched a new collection not too long ago so please check them out if you like statement accessories,
they have tons of those!
Rainbow Mochi will also be giving you a $1 off if you join their mailing list and quote SIXPEGS upon ordering.
Check out their Facebook Page for more details too!
Before I go, I would like to do a shoutout to A.
“Hello you! My surprise rocks! Hahaha. I hope you enjoyed yourself love! HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance!”
Peace xx

As Christmas is drawing near day by day, it’s time to be a smart girl (or boy) and beat the shopping crowds!
Having such a busy schedule lately, I have decided to get all the Christmas gifts I need this year at Jipaban!
And it’s great for lazy people like me because they also have a Christmas Gift Guide
which categorizes the gift and makes life a lot easier for me!
And of course, to reward myself for being such a good girl this year,
I’ve made up a little Christmas wishlist for myself too. Hahaha! *drop hints to friends*
WHAT I WANT THIS CHRISTMAS!

Everything from household items to apparels to useless but fun things. 😀

Jipaban is also having a Christmas Giveaway where shoppers get to share their Christmas wishlist
on the Jipaban Facebook Page and one lucky winner will be chosen by Jipaban every week to give them an item in their wishlist!
(items to be from Jipaban website only).
Now we know who the real Santa Claus is. :p
Starting making your own wishlists now! ❤

Popped by my JC friend, Evelyn’s new shop Hareway last week!
The store is really pretty and by the name of her store, guess what Hareway sells?

If you guessed IPL machines, then *bingo* you’re right! 😀
I’ve never really tried IPL before and when Evelyn approached me and ask me to try out one of these machines,
I was thrilled! (A was thrilled too heh!)
The store is really pretty and comfortable!

They have three main machines and they are all quite different.
This first one is good for smaller areas like upper lip, etc and also suitable for men who want to tidy up their moustaches.

And this two are more suitable for general uses and for bigger areas – legs, underarms, bikini area etc.

And the one in the picture above is the one I brought home!
Each set comes with lotions and other complementary products too.
For first time users like me, Hareway also provides training!
Look at the poster in their training room, so cute!

Can’t wait to try it out and do a review!
IPL once a month for 6 to 8 weeks and I can say bye-bye to unwanted hair! 😀
Yay to Hareway!

And speaking about unwanted hair, I also went to trim my unruly mane at Shunji Matsuo 313!
I have been so busy with SO many things lately that I have totally neglected my physical grooming. Bleah!
Look at my horrible hair!

The sides are way past my ears and the back is way too long as well.
I love my stylist Caely because she always listens to what I want and always give me what I want!
I asked for undercut because it’s super versatile and I can look studious or funky just by styling my hair differently.

有点像男生 BUT I LIKE! ❤
Biggest thank you to Caely for the awesome cut! Can’t ask for anything more.
Shall head back to colour my hair soon because my hair is so short now all my black roots are showing. Haha!
xxx
And finally, one of your favourite reads at my website – cafe reviews!
A and I heard so much about Chye Seng Huat Hardware from Jayne and
we were fascinated how the cafe decided to keep the old name of the building and store.
So we finally forked out some time to head to CSHH for lunch today!
The place is really adorable! We initially thought the place was closed
because the main entrance is quite well hidden behind two big metal gates!
Fortunately, we decided to peek into the cafe and realized that there are SO many people in there! Hahaha.

Just realized the girl in white is Viola from LoveBonito after I took the picture. Heh!
Haven’t seen her for so long! 😀
Still pretty as always!
The cafe is very laidback and I was really surprised that it was so crowded!
CSHH is owned by the same people who runs Papa Palheta so they have some kickass coffee here too!

Look at the beautiful lamps and gorgeous vintage window grills! I love it!

A had an egg omelette! 😀

And I had salmon sandwich which was quite good that I only realized I didn’t snap a picture after I was done eating. 😡
If you would also like to visit this adorable cafe, here are some details for you!

This week is also exceptionally exciting for A and I because it’s The Tiramisu Hero’s first media interview.
And it’s with iWeekly!
Initially, we thought the interview and photoshoot would only be on our products
so we were only dressed in singlets and sloppy pants.
We were stunned when the writer asked us to pose for a picture with the tiramisu! Hahaha.
But this is also the first time we posed together with our tiramisu and
it is quite a surreal feeling thinking that we only started 3 months (and 3 days) ago!

Special thanks to iWeekly and feature writer Dion for picking us for the special food feature!
The Tiramisu Hero will be featured in iWeekly in a delivery food feature two weeks from now.
I can’t wait!
We are always on a lookout for new ways to market The Tiramisu Hero and to let it reach out to more foodies!
I recently also chanced upon this video which is really cute and the marketing is really awesome!
My friend shared it with me so I thought I’ll just share it here as well.
OK for the more technical people, NFC (Near Field Communications) technology actually
transmits the data from your NFC enabled mobile phones to the reader,
so with that we can have our credit cards “stored” in our phones!
Everything is going virtual these days – now we have virtual credit cards too! Damn cool ah!
Can use it for taxis etc too.
Users can also redeem mobile coupons using this system and it will soon be the death of physical paper coupons.
I like that (because I’m one of those who ALWAYS lose my coupons)! Hahahaha.
I hope one day The Tiramisu Hero will be able to go virtual and have this NFC thing too. Hahaha.
Will come back and blog more whenever I have the time!
I have so much to blog!! 😀 😀 😀
Peace xx
It has been a CRAZY weekend for The Tiramisu Hero!
A and I have been running around like mad monkeys for the last week to prepare our new corner in Grammah at Haji Lane.
YES! The Tiramisu Hero is now stocking up at Grammah at 66 Haji Lane now.
Although not all of our products will be made available there,
it is still great news for us because it means our customers now have a place to go to
if they want to grab some last minute tiramisu!
We only have a small corner in the shop but it was still sufficient to make the two of us super busy.
Partly because we decided to doodle the wall at our corner!

After some final touchups, here is the final look of our little The Tiramisu Hero corner! 😀

We also did up a new menu for the shop as you can see in the pictures above.
And also decided to take a few new product pictures!
From now on, Tutti, Momma & NonnaHero will be made available at the store!
But the tiramisu sold here would only be in standard recipe.
You can still order your tiramisu online and choose to pick them up at Bartley.
Customers can also now choose to pick up their orders at Grammah on only Mondays and Thursdays.
Home delivery is still only available for direct orders through our website.
Stocks is limited at the store so do call them up at 6299 0384 before you head down.
For those who don’t really know our products, this is the MommaHero!

TuttiHero.

NonnaHero.

And MiniHero! Although it’s not available at the shop,
but I still want to show the picture because I’m very proud of the cupcake box we designed. Hahahaha!

Grammah is a vintage store that has lots of cool vintage apparels for sale.
There is also customization services to make your apparels extra unique.
On top of that, there are also many old school tidbits and snacks, sure to make you feel nostalgic!

xxx
We slept at 9am(!!!) for two days in a row before the opening day.
I hope we didn’t look too zombie on the opening day. Hahaha!
The opening day was at 3rd November, Saturday!
I also invited a couple of friends to come by and see see look look.
Jayne brought Vernon, Jasmine and her cutest nephew on earth, Jun jun!! ❤

Yina and Evonne came together as well! ❤
Thank you so much for coming girls! 🙂

Yina also gave Sir Antonio his first fan mail! 😀
That’s really sweet, isn’t it! Thank you Yina!

We also saw Nich!

And my dearest Sinsin dear and LTK!

There was also a little performance outside the store and we also served some cupcakes to some of the customers that day. 🙂

GREAT JOB done, dear!
Let’s jiayou for The Tiramisu Hero together! 😀

I’d recently learnt of the Take Action! Contest by Oogachaga.
It’s a contest which invites all individuals or groups who aspire to make a positive difference
to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning community in Singapore to
submit an original idea for their own programme.
And this inspired me to tell you about my story.
I once heard a saying that goes “The naked truth is always better than the best dressed lie”.
Although we all know that the truth is not always rosy and nice,
living in a lie would probably be the most depressing and unhappy thing I can imagine.
I had lived in denial for certain things in life before,
but when it comes to realizing who I am and coming to terms with my sexuality,
I am proud I took the courage to embrace and accept who I am inside.
A and I have been together for about a year and a half now. Looking back,
it all still feels surreal about how we evolved from schoolmates who only kept in touch via Facebook,
to friends who were comfortable about sharing things about our lives, to now –
two inseparable girls who can’t wait to spend each day with each other.
This whole journey with A has been more than just an emotional rollercoaster ride,
it is also a valuable lesson that has opened my eyes to things I have otherwise not known had I not met her,
and it had also brought me closer to myself.
Knowing A had made me know myself better.
I think I am a very lucky girl.
Luckily, not only because I have A in my life now, but also because
I have a loving family and friends who accept me for who I am,
and because I was born with this “live for the moment” sort of personality that made me brave enough
to just follow my heart and not my head.
I was a normal child – I looked ordinary and had good friends of both gender growing up.
I loved dresses and girly stuff and have crushes on boys when I was in school.
In short, I did not look particularly tomboyish or extremely feminine.

Everything happened pretty much according to plan and nothing out of the ordinary took place.
I had boyfriends, I brought my potential life partners home to meet my parents, I even thought of getting married!
But things started to change after I met A. It felt almost like I was going through puberty all over again.
The attraction I had towards her felt different – something I had never felt before.
I freaked out when I realized that I might be falling in love with a girl.
There were many things that came to mind before I decided to start seeing A officially.
I was afraid that my family would not approve of the relationship,
worried that my friends will think different of me after they know about my abrupt change in sexual orientation.
I did not want my sexual orientation to affect how people view me professionally too.
But me being the reckless me, I took a leap of faith and I am happy it all turned out well.
I had many questions from readers over the span of this 18 months –
some from curious straight people who just wants to know how I overcame the fears and came out,
some from people like me who are still finding the chance to finally be who they are.
There are a lot of misconceptions about the LGBT society and
I think there will be more acceptances if the society understands the LGBT people better.
So here are my answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.
♥ Does your mother know about your relationship with A? ♥
My Mom knows about my relationship with A and I am very lucky that she also acknowledges A as my girlfriend.
A and I recently introduced our mothers to each other and everything is going on well for us so far.

♥ How did you tell your family about your sexuality? ♥
I am from a typical Asian family where it can be hard to talk about sexuality openly,
so I have never actually told my mother face-to-face about my sexual orientation.
At first, I introduced A as a friend but I have never tried to hide or cover up
whenever I go out with or meet up with A.
Over time, I guess my mother realized that the way I treat A is different from how I treat my other female friends.
I spoke to my cousin once and she told me about my Mom telling my aunts that I am going out with a girl now
and my Mom said she just wants me to be happy.
So yes, that was my way of sending the message across to my mother and knowing that she has accepted us.
My aunts and extended family has been really supportive too.
They always make an effort to include A in our family gatherings and get-togethers.
♥ Has it affected your life in any way? ♥
It did not affect my life much.
True friends stayed by my side and those who thought differently about me probably
are not really true friends in my opinion.
I broke the news to my friends gradually and they were supportive of my current relationship.
If you are worried about how your friends of the same-gender might think differently of you,
let them in and tell them how you feel slowly.
Not everyone is the same so it takes time to let them understand you gradually.
♥ How different is being in a gay relationship different from a straight relationship? ♥
A gay relationship is no different from a straight relationship.
Unlike the common perception about how gay relationships are frivolous and gay people are promiscuous,
I personally know gay couples who have been together for years and still going strong.
It does not matter whether you are in a gay or straight relationship.
All relationships take a lot of effort and time to maintain.
♥ Are you happy? ♥
I am happier now and through my coming out, I got closer to my mother and my friends.
I got to know myself better and I am now in a relationship with the most special girl I have met in my life.

and 4 lucky winners will each walk away with an 8GB SanDisk SDHC card sponsored by NoFrillsFactoryOutlet.com.
