I think I am addicted to checking out new cafes and pretty chill-out places.
So here is another one to add to your ‘MUST GO’ cafes!
And indeed, the ‘most important drink of your day’ is probably your cuppa coffee.
A’s friend brought us to this cute little cafe couple days back and we were blown away!
Tucked in a little corner along Bukit Timah Road, it’s like a breath of fresh air the moment you lay eyes on this place.
It is quite hidden so it’s not visible from the main roads, but hey, that also means that it’s quieter and more peaceful in here!
This place has a strange aura that makes it really welcoming.
The people round here are all really friendly and smiley!
According to A, a seasoned coffee drinker, the coffee served here are really good.
From what I gathered, the coffee beans used at Papa Palheta are all roasted right there in the cafe!
There is a special room where all the roasting takes place.
The roasting takes place every Monday, so the cafe will be closed for that day of the week.
But for the rest of the week, they will be serving freshly brewed coffee from 9am to 6pm on weekdays & 9am to 7.30pm on weekends.
Here’s a picture of the roasting room.
Ok, that is still not the most unique part of this place.
Get this.
There is actually no proper menu for the coffee.
And there isn’t a fixed price for the coffee.
So in a way, the coffee is free!
All you need to do is just to tip the barista for the lovely coffee he/she made you.
Isn’t it awesome?
The place is pretty spacious but the number of tables are kind of limited.
Only about 2 to 3 tables at their outdoor area, and another 2 to 3 more indoors.
There are a couple bar seats though.
There seems to be another level above the main brewing area, but I’m not sure if it’s opened for public.
Oh! And yes, you can take away these ‘FREE’ coffees.
Here is a tour around the place, it’s really pretty and cute stuff to look at all around!
And I’m wearing my new top courtesy of Fascue.
Love the snake-print collar so much!
I love these old school switches!
Can I have them for my room too please!
The indoor decor is pretty awesome too!
Next time if you’re looking for a new place to check out, do drop by Papa Palheta too!
I’m pretty sure you will like this place.

A and I also watched Death Cab For Cutie’s concert at Fort Canning Park.
They were here to promote their latest album ‘Codes and Keys’ but I’m glad they also did many of their old songs.
To be honest, I am not a huge fan of theirs but for that 6 Death Cab songs I know, I have to agree that they’re pretty awesome.
Never knew how on earth they looked like until the day of the concert too.
No, actually, I still didn’t know how they look like during the concert
because they were all 10cm tall from where I was standing.
But that said, I REALLY ENJOYED THE CONCERT!
I am glad I wasn’t standing too near the stage too because it was so packed!
I would have fainted if I was standing in the first 10 rows of people.
Hahahaha.
I am really unfit like that!
Warning.
The following couple photos will probably all look the same to you.
I was quite disappointed to see the picture of the lead singer after Googling.
I thought he looked quite cute from 50m away. *urps*
They started the concert with “A Lack of Color” and ended it with “Transatlanticism”.
I’m really glad they did the latter because A was dying and itching to hear that song.
She was THRILLED when they wrapped up the concert with that song. Hahaha!
Ok, here is another bad quality taken-with-phone photo for you.
Death Cab weeeee!
This couple days has been colourful for me!
Other than my crazy looking multi-coloured nails, I also receive a pretty Prada card case from My Secret Attic.
If you love to pamper yourself with pretty buys too, do check them out!
I really love how the parcel was packaged and it comes with everything including the box and a paper bag.
Nice touch! ♥
Thanks to Jacqueline from The Secret Attic for throwing in the sheet masks for Aileen and I too.
To end off this post, I would like to boast about how awesome A is at the app that has taken Singapore by storm.
I guess it’s not hard to guess what this is if someone drew that for you in ‘Draw Something’? :p
Isn’t she awesome? Heh!
I hope she wasn’t pissed when I teased her saying that it looks like Ho Chi Minh.
HAHAHAHA.
Uncanny resemblance?
Heh! Goodnight folks!
This is an eerie coincidence or what! I chanced upon this cafe this morning while doing random browsing for Evercup and when I clicked on your blog, tadah! You have reviewed this quaint little cafe.
Wow, A’s drawing is awwwesome.
