Before I begin on my travelogue, I want to share more about the PandaQuest competition that is super cute and meaningful! Amidst all the rave about Kai Kai and Jia Jia coming to Singapore, there is another Panda-related competition that caught my attention! The Chengdu Pambassador Program is looking for animal-lovers, environmental conservationists and travel enthusiasts! And their ultimate goal is to raise awareness about conservation of pandas and to return the pandas to the wild! Those who become Chengdu Pambassadors will have the unique opportunity to tour the world over five to six months, and visit the pandas in zoos around the world. Chengdu Pambassadors will start in Chengdu, pass through Asia, Europe, the Americas, Australia and return back to China. In each city, Chengdu Pambassadors will work with the zoo and engage with the local community to promote panda conservation. The Chengdu Pambassadors will also receive a US$20k stipend each as well as all travel and accommodation expenses covered! It was one of my greatest wish to travel to Europe when I was in university. I was always green with envy when I hear friends travelling to Europe for their graduation trips etc. In a nutshell, I just really wanted to go check out Europe for myself, and Paris in particular, is one of the cities I am dying to visit. Other than the world renowned Eiffel Tower, Montmartre in Paris is also on my bucket list. A and I didn’t make it to Montmartre on our previous trip because our trip was cut short due to unforeseen circumstances. But this time round, we finally made it there! Montmartre! The place where Amélie Poulain lived and worked in! *beams* We got our apartment from a Bed&Breakfast website and it is just couple stops away from the main Montmartre area.
