I Need A Break

This is the first time I’m blogging from The Tiramisu Hero Cafe!

We opened doors for business on Monday (2 days ago) and this is Day Three of me
leading a barista/table runner/dishwasher life.
Not as fun as I’ve imagine, I’d say – there are so many things to look at and
running a cafe is really more than just good food and a good drinks menu.

There are quite a lot of hiccups I’d say – we are pretty shorthanded and we are all really new in this industry.
There is SO MUCH to learn!
So just a shoutout here.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SERVERS! (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)
More inclined to getting full timers who can work 6 days a week.
If you’re looking at having a full time career at a cafe with good career progress,
or know of anyone, drop me an email at peggy@sixpegs.com ok?

Back to the cafe, sometimes I just want to die. Hahaha.
Our first day of operations was quite a war inside and outside of the kitchen.
I started Day One with zero sleep the night before, and started Day Two without showering the night before.
(Not because I’m dirty but I was SOOOOO freaking thrashed)
And I overslept and reached the cafe 2 hours after opening.

D I S A S T E R .

Really wish I can clone a lot of myself and Aileen.
Hopefully we can get the help we need as soon as possible so I can finally rest again.
At this rate, I think I will die at 35 years old.

On the brightside, there are some happy and exciting events to look forward to!

We will be having a preview party this Saturday and I’ve invited some of my
blogger friends, family and close friends over to share the cafe with them.
This is really my baby and I hope they will like the space too! 🙂
Some people have been asking me where we are located.
As much as I want to promote and tell everyone where we are,
I think it’s better if we practise hard with our walk-ins and brush up on our food and drinks
and speed of delivery first.

So if you’ve been trying to find out where we are but to no avail.
My apologies!
It’s not because we are weirdos who do not want to promote the cafe,
but we really want to be able to give our best to every single person who walks into The Tiramisu Hero.

I will be sneaking a couple of hours off on Friday 27th September 2013 to visit the Kwerkee Pop-Up Karnival
organized by Reebonz Fashion Fest 2013!
It’s at Marina Bay Cruise Centre and it would be non stop shopping from 7pm all the way till 2am!
Sounds like fun already.
I have always been a Reebonz/Kwerkee addict (I actually surf their mobile app every night before bed).
And it’s so cool to be able to have Reebonz Fashion, Vintage and Kwerkee all together at one carnival. 🙂
There will also be fun activities like Magnum ice cream parlour, Ku De Ta DJ, Moët Champagne Bar, live bands,
pop up hair styling booths and more.
They are also giving out bags (from good Parisian brands) at The Mediacorp Challenge at the carnival.
There will be 5000 pairs of designer SHOES going on sale at 50% too! FIFTY PERCENT!
*heart palpitations*

And of course, Kwerkee! I love them!
They have a whole range of brands under them like Cath Kidston, Happy Socks, Woouf, Brandani just to name a few.
There will also be food and fun stuff (like a doodling booth, I like!).
And the best thing is, you can get $20 voucher here already!

Third exciting news!
I’ll be one of the judges for The New Paper New Face 2013 with Sophie Willocq and a few other prestigious judges.
It has been a few years since my time at New Face and it’s really exciting to be able to head back
this year as one of the judges.

Can’t wait!

Will be back with more updates and hopefully by the time I blog again,
the cafe will be all ready and ready to fly on its own.
Because Peggy Chang needs sleep. Haha.
