This post is dedicated to my beloved four-legged best friends.

A typical reaction I get when I tell someone that A and I own 3 dogs and 4 cats is:
“Wah! So many? How do they all get along?”

Yes it can get a little crowded sometimes but I think these little fur kids are
the highlight of every single night when we get home from a long day at work.
These 7 animals did not all belong to any one of us from the beginning,
it was, erm, a bit like that Hollywood movie “Yours, Mine and Ours”.

A had 2 huskies and 3 cats when I met her.
And I only had Maliboo.
After we got together, we decided to get another 2 cats.
And unfortunately, A’s oldest cat passed away a couple of months back.
So now, we are left with 7.

Let me introduce them to you one by one! 😀

I am sure you have met Maliboo, my ugly-cute Shih Tzu crossed Silky Terrier crossed Papillon pooch.
I got her about 5 years ago from Mocca.com (remember that TVC with a muscular guy introducing his new flat he got)?
It always raise eyebrows whenever I tell people Maliboo was purchased at $300 from a local website.
Haha!
Truth is, I have absolutely no idea where to get a dog 5 years ago and I was poor.
She smelled like a dirty hamster cage when I got her and I’m glad I bought her and gave her a good home.
(Although I have unknowingly “supported” home breeding that time. My bad.)

Maliboo is one of the sweetest dog ever and I must say that she really loves me too. Haha!
I call her Boo, Booly, Maliboo and sometimes Mali-Aboo-Dhabi as inspired by A’s maid Tata. :p
But that said, she has some of the most horrible habits like her extreme food-pickiness and pooping-on-anything-that-looks-remotely-like-a-pee-pad-ness.
But I still love her so.

Theone and Ulva, 10 and 9 years of age respectively.
They are both Siberian Huskies.
Theone is a red-white Australian Siberian Husky born on 16 November 2003, a Valentine’s Day present from A’s Dad.
(So sweet!)
And Ulva is a black/white Australian Siberian Husky born on 19 December 2004.
Ulva is adopted for $300 from a friend of a friend of a friend.
She came with full Australian certification and a truckload of pet food and pet supplements.
A got her when she was only 4 months old.
Her previously name was Licky (not hard to guess why).

Theone is very princessy but she is a great, well-behaved dog.
She is afraid of balloons because she bit and burst a balloon before. :p

Screen Shot 2013-11-29 at 8.37.19 pm

Ulva is a very greedy dog who lives for food – she eats everything you give her, even the non-edible stuff.
She is scared of “motor-sounds”. (So weird.)

Everytime when the gate is ajar and the dogs manage to run out of the house,
Theone would be the one who would run for her freedom like a hippie,
while Ulva would just turn back for a snack or a drink after like.. 50 metres.
Hahaha! We love them just the way they are.
Oh and because of this, Theone’s full name is Theone Houdini because she is a great escape artiste.
And Ulva is Ulva Squarepants because she is so fat that her ass is square.

Bacchus (the fat one behind) and Barnabas (the skinny younger brother) are siblings.
They were rescued from a drain by a Japanese lady called Suzuki in Katong area in 2010.
They were brought to A’s friend’s pet shop called Wizard of Paws for boarding and hopefully adoption.
A was helping out at the pet shop back then and she took care of the brothers everyday.
They were terribly ill and had bad diarrhoea and pus-filled eyes everyday.
The Japanese lady named Bacchus Silver and bought him a blinged-out silver collar and a blue cat toy.
She named Barnabas Pink and bought him a blinged-out pink collar and a yellow chicken cat toy.
She said that even though Barnabas is a boy, he looks very “girly”. Hahaha!

Barnabas (more affectionately known as Didi) likes to follow Bacchus everywhere he goes since they were kittens.
They were at the pet shop for 2 weeks but no one wanted to adopt them because they were very sick.
And A who had already gotten very attached to them by then was very afraid that Didi would die because
he was the weaker one.
And so, she decided to bring them home.
They were given their new names at the pet registration counter at the vet.

It took them 3 months to get well and they had been inseparable since the first day they were found.
Strangely, they like vegetables.

Now they are really healthy.
Didi weighs 6.8kg and Bacchus weighs in at a hefty 9.7kg.

A decided that their birthdays will be on 10th October 2010, the day they were brought to the vet.

Antonio looks like an advertisement cat.
He is an awkward pet shop cat with super high anxiety complex.
He has a very high-pitched meow (the highest of all) and very gentle mannerism.
A very odd handsome Blue British Shorthair.

We bought him from a pet shop that didn’t seem to love him because he was already a year and a half.
We wanted a British Shorthair kitten together and stumbled upon Antonio, whom we call “dou dou”.
He was set to spend the rest of his life in a glass enclosure (too small for him) and we couldn’t walk away without doing anything.

It took us 3 separate attempts over 2 weeks at requesting to view him before we were allowed to see him.
The owner of the pet shop was certain we would not like him so she kept dissuading us from viewing him lest the trouble they have to go through to catch him, not make a sale, and then put him back.
We took him the moment we saw him and were happy we did.

Antonio is a loved and happy cat now.
He is still trying to learn how to be a normal cat (pet-shop-cat-syndrome)
Antonio has a strange condition – his ears constantly generate a lot of ear shit.
However, he still smells very nice. 🙂

(Black kitten on the right)

Mooshka is coming 5 months old, born on 1 July 2013.
Now, he meows like a car trying to get its engine started.
He is one of the 3 kittens rescued at Tanjong Pagar area and we got him from a stranger from Facebook.
It was love at first sight – the moment we saw the picture of the 3 kittens,
we decided that we want the black one almost immediately!

It is really quite sad how Asian cultures, in a way, relates black cats to bad luck.
Mooshka is really such a darling.
He was called “White Socks” and is the inspiration behind The Tiramisu Hero’s Sir Antonio’s plush MOOSH.

He looks like a bat when we first brought him home:

He is one cat who had a lot of adventures.
Because he was too young and needed to be bottle-fed every four hours, we had to bring him everywhere we go.
He has been to Alley Bar, a hotel for a staycation, shopping malls, and once had a nap in a hair salon. :p

That’s Mooshka on a huge hotel bed.

Now he sleeps on/in between/next to us every single night.
Whenever he is slightly further away from us at night,
he will stick out a paw and make sure he can touch us while he sleeps.
He is very affectionate.
We enjoy seeing him attain milestones after milestones – from being able to lap water from a bowl
(he used to suckle water from a bowl) to jumping up to the sink in just one leap.

We enjoy watching Mooshka grow day by day and hope he will always be as happy and healthy as now.

In memory of Bert a.k.a Bertbert.

We will miss your door opening, paw scratching antics, teeth-showing hisses and your manly meow.
