After my visits to Eu Yan Sang for regular checks and acupuncture sessions, I have had many friends asking me whether TCM works and how the whole acupuncture experience is like. I guess it is still common how a lot of young people still have misconceptions when it comes to traditional Chinese medicine, so I’ve decided to do a little report on my progress so far! So far, I have tried traditional Chinese medicine that comes in powder form and had two acupuncture sessions! Immediate results were obvious. I drift into sleep much faster these days and it is exceptionally evident on days I received acupuncture treatments. Although neck aches did not disappear immediately, the intensity of the pain has decreased. The little health tips from Physician Zhou on how to relax my neck and shoulders have helped me improve my general health condition too! Heard of Strictly Pancakes? But have you ever noticed the unassuming little cafe right next to it? A and I heard friends raving about the crepes at Crêperie des Arts, so we decided to give it a try. IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST BITE. I know how crepes are usually sweet, served with ice cream, honey or other sweets. We were pretty surprised when we checked out the large variety of savoury crepes that’s available there! Our first visit was two weeks ago on a Sunday and after one meal, we decided that we want to have the exact same thing for lunch the following day. But because they are closed on Monday, we headed back for dinner again on Tuesday! The crepes are THAT good to make us wanna head back so many times! On Thursday night at around 4am, A and I suddenly decided that we want to go to a farm together. (Yes we are so ridiculously random sometimes) So we decided to go check out the Kranji Countryside area the following morning! I guess this is the problem for us non-westies because the west is SO FAR away. And driving all the way to the west makes us feel like we are not in Singapore anymore, in a good way! We went online to check out some of the farms in Lim Chu Kang area and we got really excited. Reminded me of the times I went to those mushroom farms on school excursions! A recommended me to this place called Bollywood Veggies, and raved about how healthy and absolutely good the food was. And so, Bollywood Veggies it shall be! I like the owners’ sense of humour. Pink Dot

We have finally attended the first Pink Dot together! Look at A’s face in the picture above, she looks so happy. We had a wonderful picnic and celebration at Pink Dot 2012 with some 15000 other people! It is the first ever night Pink Dot and the one with the largest scale so far and I’m so glad we were part of it! To prepare Boo for the event, I dug out all her pink stuff and threw them on her. She looked quite ridiculous to be honest because Boo is not a “pink” dog, but oh well, it’s Pink Dot anyway! A little pink won’t hurt. :p We did a little cape (with special message) for her. And completed with pink sneakers and a furry pink collar, Ridiculous Boo is born! HAHAHAHA! Here are some pictures from yesterday. A and I has been experimenting with our Aglio Olio recipe for the last couple months. We tried a few times and I think we have finally perfected our very own Aglio Olio! And since we are not selfish people and we love to share, here is the recipe for you to try too! I called it Aileen’s recipe because she invented it! Hahaha. Other than the usual tomato or cream-base pasta, this is another one of the few common pasta we find in cafes. This is also my favourite pasta of all time because it’s a healthier choice and it’s so tasty! But like what many says, the simpler the dish, the harder it is to perfect it. It is such a simple pasta traditionally made with just olive oil and garlic, but there are still so many restaurants out there which would screw it up. Original Fairy Tale Endings

Lately, I heard something about fairy tales are really just fairy tales. Not in the way how most girls would complain “there is no such thing as happily ever after“, but in actual fact that these stories ended with really gruesome endings originally. I did some research and did a compilation of 10 stories most of us are familiar with. Most of us grew up reading (or watching) Walt Disney storybooks or movies thinking that one fine day, some Prince Charming (or Princess, in my case) would pop out of nowhere and love us forever. I wish they told us these original endings to the so-called fairy tales when we were a little younger. These stories entertained me so much I feel compelled to share them with everyone I know! WARNING – This is a REALLY wordy post.

It gives me great GREAT pleasure to blog about our best friend Sinsin’s wedding today. SINSIN IS FINALLY MARRIED! It has been such a great journey seeing our favourite girl prep for her wedding, and it is such an honour to be part of LTK and Sinsin’s wedding and part of their life. The day started with the tricks the “sisters” have prepared for the groom and his gang of brothers! Toothbrush with wasabi, eating all sort of stuff, balloons, stockings, etc. Hahahaha! It’s my second time being a sister this time round! And the prettiest bride, Sinsin dear! She always got the funkiest poses ever. Disaster! Hahahaha.
