I Need A Pair Of Wings

Thanks to my awesome salon, amazing stylist Caely and my brilliant idea to chop off my hair,
I’m back to being a pixie.
Love it.

While I used to think I would only look like a tomboy with this hair, I recently discovered lipsticks can make even a bald girl look sexy.
Swear I’m gonna stock up on the lippies.

Made the decision to cut off my purple hair and get a new copper brown colour because my hair ends were getting too dry.
I end up wearing a hairband most of the time when I’m not required to do up my hair,
so I thought I might as well get rid of it (oh yes, and to combat the crazy Singapore weather too, of course).
The Matrix Hair Treatment saved the remaining bit of hair I have left. Thank goodness!

I also popped by a new nail salon today!
M’pir (quit guessing, it’s read as empire) is the the new kid in the block,
and I’m pretty sure it’s giving the other older kids a good run for their money.
I am also proud to announce this gorgeous parlour is the brainchild of my equally brilliant friend.

I am such an addict to clean, neat and pretty nails and I’m really happy to have finally found home in this gorgeous place.
To be honest, this is the most unlike-a-nail-parlour place I’ve ever been and I’m so loving how unconventional it looks and feels!
You don’t have to face strangers looking in from outside,
and no more awkward smiles or conversations with the stranger seated next to you.
It really feels very private and home-ish!

M’pir is tucked away in a little corner on Level 2 of TANGS.
The first time I set foot in there, it felt like I have just discovered a gem!
Awesome decor, checked.
Friendly staff, checked.
Wide variety of services provided, checked.
Value for money, checked.
I really love how private it feels.

My favourite part of this place (ok not really nail-related) is how all the furnitures are cleverly mismatched.
So up my alley! Haha.
It looks exactly like a room I would like to have in my house in future if
I become a freaking rich taitai who can have a room just to make my nails. Heh!

We were offered drinks as soon as we got in.
I was really quite impressed with the quality of drinks they serve. Got Nespresso ok! Atas. Haha!

A says HELLO!

A and I had our little private room to do our nail-pampering in.
It’s the first time I get to do my nails in privacy and I think I can get used to this. :p
The lovely staff at the parlour also spoilt us with light snacks, magazines and even a tablet loaded with games and movies!
I really think I can get used to this. Haha!
I like the cute little accessories dish for customers to put their knick knacks too. Very nice touch.

Can I also just say I really love the couches all over the parlour?! So pretty!
Got blanket somemore. Blanket ok? Not towel! Hahaha.
This is truly a place created by a nail addict for nail addicts. Such attention to details!

For my nails, I requested for a simple Angel Pro manicure and pedicure.
Understood from the nail technicians that Angel Pro is a better brand because it doesn’t dry out the nails as much.
I picked soft gel because having to wait for my nails to dry drives me nuts! Heh.
I also ordered a comforting Lavender Organic Spa to go along with the mani/pedicure!
Totally dig the spa treatment because the smell was so fab and my skin really looks so much more moisturized after.
(OK I know that totally sounds like advertisement but it’s not ok!)

*My word. My hand is hideous, doesn’t do the nails any justice.

All in all, I think M’pir has just earned themselves another regular customer.
Want to take this opportunity to wish my friend M all the best too! Huat ah! :p

Before I head off (it’s 7am and I’m still up. No, haven’t bathe yet),
please allow me to share the new additions to my vanity bag!

I love love love the packaging from the Dirty Works range and it’s such a bonus that the products are so good too!
Bagged 5 brushes in total and truck loads of scrubs, masks and washes and I am a super happy girl now!

There is also the I LOVE series for girls who loves supple, fruity smelling skin. Haha!
Seriously feels like I gor strawberries all over myself when I use this can? :p

I got all of these from GlamoGirl.com.
They are actually a distributor that carries a lot of fab UK brands!
If you’re wondering whether you should click on the link, let me tell you –
they have lots of makeup, tools and nail products too.
Hehe!
