Let’s Fika!
Looks like getting a new camera IS a right choice. I’ve been transformed into a brand new camwhore who would whip out my camera almost every hour. Hahahaha! I bought the Samsung MV9000 from Gmarket and it’s only at $320! (The price I got from Sim Lim Square was $417, so that’s really quite a steal!) It comes with a flip up screen and has inbuilt wifi so I can transfer pictures from the camera to my phone ANYWHERE, even when I’m at a place with no wifi connection! OK, enough of my boring gadget talk. PEEKTURES! I’m also loving my new gelish manicure from Juup! It has got to be my favourite nail salon of all times. Apart from the hot tea and cookies and chocolates they give me once I settled down, I get to watch movies as I’m getting my nails done! How awesome is that! I did the gelish in a glittery dark grey this time round because my previous colour done by the was of a lighter shade. Time for …
The Lawn
2013 started with a kickass lobster from Four Seasons Hotel. It’s brunch with the girlies at Four Seasons Hotel! ❤ Food glorious food! Yums yums for my tums tums! Look at my main! This freaking lobster is bigger than my forearm! *gasps* And my favourite friends in the world! Including the latest member of our sisterhood, no I mean.. auntiehood. Heh! We love Baby Rykiel! More photos with the girls! Rossie looks so pretty here!!! Most chio Mommy of the year award. Hehehe! Baby looks so funny here. Heh! I love my girlfriends! Another awesome year ahead! And dear A, thank you for the love for the ENTIRE 2012! I want many many more awesome years with you! xxx I also coloured my hair again at Shunji Matsuo 313. Decided to going back to having a more normal colour and look less K-Pop. Hahaha! The fringe is getting really long and unruly but I’m torn between getting them trimmed and keeping them long. Gaaahhh! I also took my unruly black hair to this really cute …
Chillax
It has been quite a chillax week for me so far – meeting up with friends, finding new cafes to hang out in. I like. 🙂 But before I start on the two cafes I visited, here is Bacchus, Bert and me playing lovey dovey! The two cafes I visited were Loysel’s Toy and Chillax! A and I met up with Jayne yesterday to check out Loysel’s Toy at Kampong Bugis. We were there at about 4pm and sadly weren’t in time order anything from their food menu. The place is quite cute though! Simple and clean looking. It’s really windy and spacious, so quite a perfect place to sit and just slack the afternoon away. Lemon Tart was pretty good. 🙂 I was also decked in my new leather tee from Bows And Feathers! Super comfortable to be in! They have a whole lot of cool stuff too, so don’t miss out. Quote “SIXPEGS15” for a 15% discount, be fast before the promo is over! They have arrivals every Tuesday too, just in case …
The Coffee Daily
A and I have been trying to visit The Coffee Daily and we finally managed to find time to drop by for a drink. 🙂 This cafe is really near her place so we were both very excited to see how it looks like. It turns out to be unpretentious and really cute! Here are just a few snapshots. The cafe is not very big but definitely spacious and comfortable to hang out in. I love how there are a lot of old school elements in the decor. Especially the window grills! Love it! Reminded me of my old house at Kallang area. They serve mostly sandwiches, waffles and other desserts. It almost felt like I was visiting an old friend’s house! :p A is addicted to some iPhone game (again). Haha. We only tried their iced chocolate and waffles with ice cream. I have to say that although they don’t have a huge menu to boast of, I could really feel that they put in effort to make every item served taste and look …
Saveur
A and I checked out this little cafe called Saveur on Sunday night. We heard raves about the good food and low prices of the French food served at this cafe, and also saw pictures of pretty food from my friend Cheryl’s Instagram, so we decided to go take a look for ourselves! I read about how Saveur used to be a kopitiam stall and after they moved to their new location, standard of comfort, ambience, location went up, but the prices remained the same! It was quite a big place and it was packed when we arrived. They have two units along Purvis Road but they only opened one side of the cafe. It was still very cosy though! We were also very excited because there are alot of other yummy “kopitiam” style food along Purvis Street! The menu looks pretty promising. And the prices are REALLY affordable – like only $6.90 for a serving of pasta! I like the drawing on the wall too. Very cute! Look how it’s packed to the brim! …
Dean & Deluca
I met the girls for dinner and an early birthday celebration earlier this week. We had a simple dinner and get-together at Dean & Deluca at Orchard Central. Lianie told us about this place and I really love it! Clean and bright with a lovely decor. But it was really crowded when we were there and we had to queue for food! The service wasn’t exactly very fast too. Oh well, but I have to admit the food was damn good. I LOVE THE SCRAMBLED EGGS! These are the table number cards you have to bring along before you order food at the counter. Coffee machine midgets. We shared our food and didn’t order too much. The food we ordered was totally fab though! These pictures don’t do the food justice at all! Really yummy! I brought some NonnaHero from The Tiramisu Hero for them to bring back to their families too! Lianie couldn’t resist the tiramisu though, she started digging in on the spot. :p Thanks for the support girls! The girls also bought …
Le’toile
Sunday’s dinner was at the cute little Le’toile Cafe at Owen Road! A and I had been hungry the whole day because we were busy doing our work and missed all our meals, and we were really looking forward to check out this cafe we heard about. It was really nice to know that the cafe opens until as late as 10pm too. Here are some pictures of the cafe. I love the building the cafe is located in! So cute! It is a really quiet area so this would be a great place for people who want to get away from the bustling town area. The Japanese/French style cafe looks really welcoming with a small area near the main entrance that carries cute accessories and other merchandise. It is a 2 storey cafe and there are quite a lot of tables around. I like how almost all the tables in this cafe are different! Very cosy place, and there are a lot of books and magazines littered all around for patrons too. We picked …
Club Street Social
Thanks to reader Pearl, A and I had some really delicious Nutella Bread Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream at Club Street Social! We swung by Club Street Social after running some errands this afternoon and here are some pictures of this New York style cafe! I had a beer too! It is such a luxury to have an ice cold beer on a hot afternoon! First time trying the Vedette, it’s good! And there is something about the packaging that makes it very appealing to me. AND the superbly delicious Nutella Bread Pudding with Ice cream! I wish we had more tummy space because the description of the food on the menu sounds so good. We have to get back to this place for more food in future. According to reader Pearl, the breakfast served here are quite good! I KNOW! The dessert looks damn good right! :D” Here are some details of Club Street Social if you would like to try them out too. Please go and try their breakfast and let me know …
Maison Ikkoku
It is another fine day for some cafe-exploring! A and I had such a busy week and it is such a luxury to be able to take the afternoon off. Thanks to reader dropletloves, I got to know about this really adorable cafe called Maison Ikkoku. The walk to the cafe was a really scenic one too – I love this part of Singapore! Maison Ikkoku is more than just an ordinary cafe. It resides in this beautiful white shophouse – level 1 is the cafe, level 2 is the boutique and level 3 the bar. Look at the building, isn’t it gorgeous! The cafe was really cozy! I like how old cupboard doors were given a second life and made into tables. Look at our table, there is a keyhole on it. This is doing vintage with a modern twist! The naked bulbs and copper pipes gave the place a slight industrial feel too. Pretty cool if you ask me! This place has a huge variety of coffee and from how they display their …
