Our 2nd Christmas

Christmas is just round the corner again! There is no doubt the Christmas season is my favourite time of the year, not only because everyone is in a good mood generally, but also because there are lots of gatherings & parties! I love those! The cafe is my second home, and it’s always fun decorating the cafe for Christmas. Heh! I love such things la! For Christmas, I got a little dipped fruits bouquet from Rainbowly! It’s pretty and it’s so yummy! As pretty as a regular bouquet, but better because it can be eaten. Muahahaha! :p Good as gifts, event decor or even for weddings! I like! My bouquet is made up of chocolate-coated pineapples and strawberries! SUPER DELICIOUS! :D” So pretty ya? 😀 This year, my staff and I had another lil party at the cafe and we had a few ex-staff join us. I cannot emphasise how happy I am to see them back at the cafe, and still having fun with the rest even though they aren’t working with us anymore. …

ShopVenture.Com

Christmas is coming and I have already started buying presents for myself. (Hehe!) I have been looking for a small backpack that I can use for everyday work (and to act young), and I managed to find this pretty two-way bag from SummurCo.com. It comes with an extra strap to be used as a backpack but I use the long handles directly as the backpack handles. It can also be a normal bucket bag, depending on what you like. I also like the personalised tag I added. I had my initials on, and it’s complimentary, so YAY! Oh the two metal “pins” were initially not black but I coloured them black with a permanent marker. HEHEHE! I also got a new laptop case for myself. LOVE the tag I added too! The quality is really freaking good! I’m planning to get my passport cover and notebooks for 2015 from them already! 😀 With SIXPEGSxSUMMURCO, you can enjoy 5% off your total bill! Lately I have also been checking out different online stores to get clothes for …

Hello Cats! Hello Alpacas!

And so, other than lavish temples, cheap massages, good food and fancy hotels, Bangkok has more to offer! A and I checked out three theme cafes in Bangkok and I’m here to share more about what we think of them. We have heard (or seen) many cat cafes because they are getting so popular these days. But this one that we visited is one of the prettiest I’ve seen so far! Other than the cafe section, they also have a retail section, as well as a grooming arm! The cats here are really pretty! And we saw 3 (or was it 4) Maine Coons, and A went crazy because she really likes her cats BIG! Hahahahaha. But to be frank, the Maine Coons looked really majestic! The pictures you see above is the usual sight during most of the time. We were also lucky enough to witness how feeding time was like at the cafe! The lady with the cat food walked into the room with a tray with all the cat food and went …

Hotel Muse

Last weekend was a special one for me, being able to spend A’s birthday privately with her in Bangkok. I think people might think we are mad at the rate we’re visiting Bangkok. Heh! We just love this place too much! During this visit, we also checked out Le Cabinet de Curiosites of Thomas Erber, an internationally acclaimed annual exhibition, exploring both Thai and international arts. It was a feast for the eyes! This is the fifth year Le Cabinet de Curiosite was held and this time round, it was hosted by Siwilai Concept Store and Central Embassy, a brand new luxury mall in the heart of Bangkok. In this event, we saw more than 70 pieces consisting of a Lotus Arts de Vive crocodile sculpture, pieces by Thai silk company Jim Thompson, a P-Tendercool haute manufactured table, the lightest jacket ever made by Officine Generale, and an exclusive urban city bag by Maison Takuya. It’s just way too cool! Central Embassy was also like an art piece on its own – look at those …

Travel Life Hacks

People who know me in person would know what a big travel buff I am. My dream is to travel to all continents, and to see all the sights on my Bucket List. And before I start seeing the world, I want to share how I love some of the amazing countries we have in Asia – Hanoi, Phuket, Cambodia and even Kuala Lumpur, which is so near us! I love asking the people around me for some of the life hacks they have when it comes to travelling, and here is a list of ten travel hacks that I’d love to share with you!

#DFW Insiders

If you follow me (and a few other bloggers) on Instagram, then Digital Fashion Week would be not unfamiliar to you. I am really happy to be one of the few bloggers on the DFW journey, not because it means I am better than other because there are obviously SO MANY GAZILLION better bloggers than me in Singapore, but because I’ve never done anything like that before. It was a really good experience and I got to know some of the bloggers a bit better (and loving it). Because of DFW, I also got to meet like-minded people from all over the world. And they are all so darn cool. So for the record, thank you Digital Fashion Week and Nuffnang Singapore. 🙂 This is not an advertisement so I do apologise in advance if it seems a little haphazard. (It’s 3am now and it’s almost bed time) DFW started in Singapore and I got to know so many of the amazing local designers! Ok, not know the designers per se, more of get to …

Endometriosis?

They always say “Girl Power”, and for me, it is exceptionally prominent during that special time of the month. If you know what I’m talking about, and have once experienced that awful thing called “menstrual cramp”, you would definitely agree with me. A couple of weeks back, I had the opportunity to attend a talk by Dr Yong Yoke Fai from NUHS and learnt more about how menstrual cramps could just be one of the many symptoms of more serious problems like endometriosis. Immediately after the talk, I shared the information I’ve learnt with A, and it was only then when I found out that she actually had this same condition a few years back before I met her. Why curl up in bed and suffer in silence? 😩 Let me share what I’ve learnt with you!

Ten Things You Thought You Knew About Lesbians

…But You Don’t. I have once had a “friend” come up to me and asked me in the face why I chose to be a lesbian, and is it whether because I don’t like cocks. Maybe she thought she had a good sense of humour, but I was honestly quite offended because I’m quite sure she wasn’t talking about the rooster. And because a person with higher EQ would know how to choose his/her words more carefully, not in this insensitive and an almost-mocking manner. I hope she didn’t go around asking her childless female friends why they do not have children, and whether it is because they don’t like their husbands’ penises. See what I mean? These are personal choices, no? This “friend” I have is just thick. Period. – – – I think the lesbians are pretty misunderstood. After a survey with my lesbian friends (firstly, no, lesbians do not only have lesbian friends), we came up with a list.

Sensodyne True White

My pearly whites are very precious to me, because I believe having clean and neat teeth will help make someone look clean, fresh and polished. That is why my toothpastes are always whitening ones, and I also visit a dentist to have my teeth whitened whenever I feel there is a need to. But because I also have sensitive teeth, I sometimes have to alternate between using sensitivity toothpaste and one for whitening. What I really like about Sensodyne True White toothpaste is how it is both a toothpaste that whitens my teeth and helps it cope with sensitivity. For those lucky few with no sensitivity issues, you can really cannot imagine how annoying (and painful) it is to be struck by a sudden wave of “shock” when devouring your favourite gelato or when you’re drinking iced water from a cup without using a straw. *wails* And because I have bruxism, I uncontrollably grind my teeth at night and it has indirectly caused my teeth to become increasingly sensitive over time; prolly because I am …
